Product Name: Blind Spot Light Kits (includes Blind Corner Light Kit & Blind Door Light Kit)
Primary Market: Commercial/Industrial
Product Category: Safety lights for blind corners, intersections and doorways
In January 2024, BrinkAlert released the family of Blind Spot Light Kits. These industrial safety lighting systems improve safety & productivity in potentially-dangerous locations where forklift or vehicle collisions could occur. They warn drivers whether it is safe to cross through a blind door or turn around a blind corner.
Wherever pedestrians and forklifts cross paths, safety is everything. Forklift drivers are usually in a hurry and have poor visibility. Often the drivers pass through doors or around corners without knowing whether a person or forklift is stopped or approaching from the opposite side. Sometimes this results in forklift accidents, which are nearly always horrible. If the drivers know from a distance that a doorway or corner is NOT SAFE for transit, they will stop and wait or check on the situation. When they are confident that transit IS safe, they can proceed efficiently without unnecessary delays.
The system includes multi-color LED strips and motion / presence detectors on both sides of the door. The detectors watch for pedestrian or forklift traffic. When something is detected, the BrinkAlert LED Controller illuminates the LED strips with colors that communicate a simple message to the pedestrians and drivers. If the pedestrian or driver can safely proceed, the LED strips become Solid-Green. If they should not proceed, Flashing-Red or Flashing-Multicolor lights are used to signal STOP – DO NOT PROCEED to the participants.
